What this is
Read this first. It is a short summary of what the platform is.
This is the app, playing on its own. The buttons above the phone switch between three programmes running on the same platform.
Two pieces of software
There is an app. The people you are helping carry it on their phone. They open it, see a short list of things to read and answer, and answer them. We call those people participants, and the app is all they ever see.
The app has five tabs along the bottom, and this is all of them.
There is also a website, which everyone here calls the portal. That is where you and your team decide what goes into the app. Nobody using the app knows the portal exists.
Nearly every page here is about one or the other. When something is unclear, work out which one it is about and it usually clears up.
Your own space inside the platform is called a tenancy. Your people, your content, your colours, your sign-up link. Nothing inside one tenancy can be seen from another, so a large organisation running several separate programmes can have a tenancy for each.
Who we are
We are Intervengine. We build the platform and we run it. Where these pages say "we" or "ask us", that is us.
The app carries your name, not ours. Your colours, your logo, your wording. What you are reading about is the machinery underneath it.
What it is for
Somebody sees a clinician, or a coach, and then goes home. What happens next is mostly nothing, until the next appointment. This is for that gap.
It goes from wellbeing to clinical care, and where you sit is your choice. The same machinery runs a workplace wellbeing programme and a cardiac rehabilitation pathway. What differs is the content you put in, and who is watching the answers.
What it does
- Gives each person their own short list for the day, from rules one person sets up once.
- Changes what somebody gets next, based on what they just answered.
- Lets somebody choose their own path through a programme, and start things themselves.
- Raises a coach when an answer needs one, without the person seeing it happen.
- Reads steps, sleep and heart rate off the phone, and can act on them.
- Shows somebody their own answers over time.
A note on the word coach. It is what the platform calls the person on the other end, and it stands for whoever that is in your service: a nurse, a physiotherapist, an exercise physiologist, a dietitian, a navigator, a health coach. We use the one word from here on because the platform does, not because the role is always a coach.
What it needs from you
The content. You decide what the programme says and who it goes to.
Whether anybody is on the other end is a separate choice, and both answers are normal. Some programmes have a coach reading answers and stepping in when one needs it. Others run on their own for a whole population, with nobody watching, and the platform does the job unaided.
Either way it keeps something small in front of a person every day, and it tells you when they stop.
Where to go next
The home screen starts the five-page path through the basics. If a word here was new, the words has all of them in one list.
